Performing Tasks

I just read this: Task > Transfer source segments to target segments = Transfer all source segment contents to corresponding target segments. This will overwrite any existing translations, and cannot be undone! Task > Remove target segments = Remove the contents of all target segments. This cannot be undone! Note: The “Remove target segments” feature is designed to work with CafeTran project files. It may or may not work for unknown xliff files created in other translation tools. Task > Remove target segments the same as source = Remove the contents of all target segments that are exact matches of their corresponding source segments. This cannot be undone! Note: The “Remove target segments” feature is designed to work with CafeTran project files. It may or may not work for unknown xliff files created in other translation tools.

Did anyone ever had to deal with an XLIFF where the target segments couldn’t be removed? Furthermore: it would be handy to add instructions/ a description of how to remove filtered targets only. With a big warning of course :)

Yes, I think that CTE way to handle external projects is too limited.

Please explain. What are you missing?

1) Handling of external projects the same as internal projects (regular project creation).

2) Adding SDL-compatible online formatting

3) Something else I don't remember now

1) Indeed. Consistency is missing. 2) Inline formatting: indeed a good idea. 3) Jouning segments? 4) Unlocking segments

But it's just wishful thinking, I'm afraid.
