Schema 4 projects (= XML), created in Studio, are a real pain.

Especially those segments that only contain tags plus a / or another punctuation mark. And those segments that start with a tag.

I've tried a lot and now I've come to this simple solution:

Since the propagation of these segments isn't handled correct in CafeTran Espresso:
Run QA tags
Go to the first incorrectly propagated segment
Press Ctrl+Alt+I (capital i)
Press Ctrl+Alt+> (right arrow)

And to not become a typing monkey, automate this like this:

Simple, but it works.
