A generic setting to have normal spaces and non-breaking spaces treated similar?

Currently, I'm covering both normal and non-breaking spaces when adding glossary entries–when needed.

E.g. |ca\.[NSNBS]year

(where NS is a normal space and NBS a non-breaking space)

Is there a generic setting to have normal spaces and non-breaking spaces treated similar in glossary entry recognition?

Is it possible to let CafeTran Espresso 10 recognise an entry from a glossary when the source contains a non-breaking space but the glossary entry doesn't?

Source segment: ca.NBSyear

Glossary entry: ca.NSyear

Even complexer:

Is it possible to let CafeTran Espresso 10 recognise an entry from a glossary when the source contains a non-breaking space but the glossary entry doesn't, while CafeTran Espresso 10 replaces the NS with a NBS at the correct position?

This would be too much magic, right?

Perhaps you might add the non-breaking space as an additional word divider in Edit > Preferences > Glossary tab > Additional word dividers field?
