Handling of HTML/XML tags in Studio projects

Today, I received two Studio projects from two different clients, containing XML or HTML tags, like:

Of course, in an ideal world, they should have been tagged in Studio. But they weren't. Causing term recognition problems in CafeTran Espresso 2019:

I know that I can define < and > in the do not match characters, but that's not handy.

The MT systems all display:

Which looks much nicer.

It would be nice if CafeTran Espresso 2019 would interpret these <li> as bullets in Studio projects sloppy made from HTML / XML too.

Not to speak of sequences like <p><p><p><p> or <b><i> which could be tagged internally in CafeTran Espresso 2019 too.

Even links are treated correctly:

Would be nice to have that in the target segment editor too...

Perhaps a system with user-defined tags in the Preferences or project settings? Or this, what's it called, ... tagger?
