Some days ago we discussed heuristics (at least, let's call it a discussion) for the development of tools. Yesterday Jost Zetzsche pointed to SCATE, a kind of scientific approach towards CAT tools. There is plenty of documentation, including some interesting things as e.g. an analysis of CAT tools (a bit outdated, to be honest).
Maybe it is of interest, just to think a bit outside the box, to get some more ideas etc. In this chapter there is even a mention of CafeTran – 3rd place behind memoQ and Studio (if we neglect the point "Otters"). Perhaps it would also be helpful to contact the guys, just in case they continue their work, to have CafeTran considered (other tools vendors might also do this, this is called "free competition").
