Curly apostrophes trigger a misspelling error

Inside CT it's possible to type directly only the straight apostrophe (') and the spellchecker doesn't find any error in, say, "dell'Olanda". But, when at the end of the translation I have all straight apostrophes replaced with the curly apostrophe (), "dell’Olanda" outputs an error.

To be fair, this problem occurs in other CAT software too.

I see that this issue has been already reported in the past, but no specific solution was given other than adding all possible instances to Hunspell (if I'm not mistaken).

What is the situation as of today?

The situation is still the same as Hunspell spell-checker still considers such curly apostrophe words as errors.

Perhaps aspell is a an alternative here? https://github.com/GNUAspell/aspell/issues/411

Thank you. I think we can easily teach ourselves to ignore Hunspell results in the translation grid. However, when the spell-checker is ran again from the QA menu CT may display too many false errors. Hence my question, if it's easy and doesn't involve too much work: would it be possible to tell CT somehow to ignore such curly apostrophe words?

How about this:

Bump en-us/ca spellcheck dictionaries used.

Dictionaries en-US-6-1.bdic and en-CA-6-1.bdic now support typographical
apostrophes and have been uploaded to the server.

A method to handle such words was added to CafeTran in the latest (today's) build.

Igor, I added a comment on this to the CafeTran News forum. Thanks.

Try adding l'iPhone (with the straight apostrophe) to user's spell-check dictionary. Internally, CTE normalizes the curly apostrophe to the straight one which the Hunspell spell-checker recognizes.

It works, thank you. The internal normalization thing was a clever trick!
