It is the new one. Only its name hasn't been changed yet. It will be changed later. Please apply it and check the date in the Help > About panel > Product version.

Cheers

>I have the feeling that CT is in someway in the need of design improvements, those that should be done by a software designer and not by a developer (don't take this bad, CT is an amazing piece of software with the right tools and more, but the design, ergonomics, aesthetics and so on are not coupled at all with its potential)
These ideas have already come up in the past several times. Both in the forums and in private communication.
Just as there hasn't been hired a technical writer to write any documentation or create movies, it's unlikely that there will be a hired software designer, me thinks.
Personally, I don't think that there's any need to change anything in the 'design, ergonomics, aesthetics'. Don't forget that you can customise CafeTran Espresso 2019's looks already to a high level. Extremely high, I'd say. I've demonstrated in the past, how you can customise icons, the Dashboard, the background colours etc. I know no other tool that offers this.
On the other hand: I feel that CafeTran Espresso 2019's default look (as set in the download packages) doesn't show how nice it can look and possibly frightens prospects (this has been discussed too). For instance: Mac users have certain expectations about the looks of apps on macOS (e.g. b4d8fd as a selection colour, white background etc.).
An approach would be to ship CafeTran Espresso 2019 with looks that are adapted to the OS. And I feel that we can come up with some more attractive colour schemes, including the one for the Dashboard. This can be a community effort too. But hey, there's no arguing about looks/design/aesthetics/taste, since they are so subjective. Why not create a nice theme and get honoured for it: Jane's Green Tea Theme. Carlos' Black Coffee Theme.
Ergonomics: I am convinced that CafeTran Espresso 2019 is the most ergonomic CAT tool there is. But even here, there's always room for improvement. Just let us make our suggestions here in the forums and Igor will likely pick them up. (Although this can cost some time: the strikethrough attribute has already been suggested by Michael et moi some years ago. It's, like Torsten says, sometimes difficult to convince Igor. Which is fine.)
And then there's the point of deviations from user's expectations that are probably not necessary and in my opinion should be fixed. Probably they are ergonomics/intuition-related: the missing context menu, missing items for copy, paste and cut where you'd expect them (making useful apps like Popclip hard to use).
Jean: ...I feel CafeTran could partly step away from being driven by power-user suggestions, to focus on streamlining the design and ergonomics (UI, UX).
Super-seconded! Probably because there isn't much more to be invented in the CAT tool domain anymore (or am I mistaken?), key players are becoming too bloated in order to differentiate from competitors and consequently more and more user-unfriendly nowadays.
Rather—in my opinion as a non-power user—intuitiveness and user friendliness should be the next battle field. I've seen great things in these few months since I joined CTE and hope Igor will continue making it the most user-friendly CAT tool on earth.

>people not working with native CT projects, don't make use of project templates, it's just not possible.
I'm using PTs for all my SDLPPX projects too ...
*I'm leaving this out = I'm leaving things out
Hello Igor,
- highlighting punctuation characters in TM exact matches which are defined in "Do not match" option.
I too have noticed that not all punctuation characters are systematically picked up in the TM comparison.
If the comparison feature can be further improved, I'm all for it, but the current iteration (as well as the other changes) still represents an important move. Thanks!
And I agree with _vicparra_ that further bridging differences between native and external projects (the current list is quite long, and I'm sure I'm leaving this out: https://github.com/idimitriadis0/TheCafeTranFiles/wiki/4-File-formats#general-notes-on-bilingual-xliff-files) would also be a good step.
Victor: I have the feeling that CT is in someway in the need of design improvements, those that should be done by a software designer and not by a developer (don't take this bad, CT is an amazing piece of software with the right tools and more, but the design, ergonomics, aesthetics and so on are not coupled at all with its potential)
At this stage, although it is great to know user feedback is thoroughly taken into consideration in the development cycle, I feel CafeTran could partly step away from being driven by power-user suggestions, to focus on streamlining the design and ergonomics (UI, UX).

> do you think that this status related changes (permanently) and, most important, real (not virtual) merging/splitting segments for .sdlxliff files would be implemented at any time? I mean, can we count on it for the future?
I don't know. For now, the virtual merging of segments is as far as could be done with this file type coming from another translation tool. The priority is for the implementation of CafeTran native features, and more is coming soon.
> "- highlighting punctuation characters in TM exact matches which are defined in "Do not match" option."
Please read "exact matches", and they are shown in the TM panes at the moment. Their display in the Matchboard may follow in another update.
Thanks for your feedback.
