>re-applying my Theme
Image please ;).
What does YOUR theme look like?
In my case, just re-applying my Theme in (View > Themes) does the trick for the strikethrough color in matches comparison.
If you load and use Project Templates, you might need to update them as well. Hans has described how to do so here, if you wish to do so in batch mode: https://cafetran.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/6000056440
Yes, but you have to set the colour manually (unless you reset all preferences). Off the top of my head, it's subsegments colour.
Hi! I'm not sure, but wasn't this supposed to be RED?
>use the cross-platform shortcut for the Word selection (CTRL + SHIFT + left/right arrow).
I cannot speak for others, but when migrating from Windows to OS X (years ago), this was the biggest issue for me: the different keyboard shortcuts for navigating between words. I constantly used the wrong one, when switching between (a virtualised) Windows and OS X.
So for me, this work around wouldn't be acceptable.
Could you please check if the issue has been reported to the developers of Java?
With Mac look and feel, left Option key + SHIFT + arrows for the previous/next Word selection works fine as long as you don't use the right Option key, which seems to disable it (a Java issue apparently). Alternatively, you can switch to Nimbus or Metal look and feel and use the cross-platform shortcut for the Word selection (CTRL + SHIFT + left/right arrow).
Yes, left Option key, but either left or right Option keys lose their text selection abilities after a short while.
>Option + Shift + arrows work briefly, but stop working afterwards.
Are you using the left Option key? The issue is known for the right Option key. Also, see this: https://cafetran.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/6000055509
Text selection on Mac is working intermittently: Option + Shift + arrows work briefly, but stop working afterwards. Also, whole words are being selected regardless of “Automatically selection of whole words” being selected or not.

...but we still can't see a proper segment comparison between TM and current segment
Do you mean customizing the way what's been added too is highlighted? Currently, by colour and strikethrough we can clearly see (only) what's been subtracted. Yes, it would be nice to have both.
