Missing end tags
The missing end tag is an error in the structure of the file. Such errors CTE is not able to repair. Time machine may be the way to restore it.

It did. Time Machine for President!
But what could have caused it? This is a plain text project. What's more, loading stopped/displayed the error message at segment 4,000 of about 100,000.

I don't know what caused it. The TMX might have been created or edited in another tool, or the text file in project had some illegal character that corrupted the TMX memory.

Could be, although I don't know how. But why at segment 4,000? Not at the end of the TMX file?

By the way, and before I forget again, the very same fragment is also in my Project TM, where it didn't cause a problem.

Another possibility is a problem (e.g. power loss or system issue) at saving. Then, CafeTran can create a backup file in the folder of the TMX file. With 100,000 units in a file, please consider storage in Total Recall.

I clicked "Remove invalid XML characters" dozens of times, but the problem persists, and loading continus to fail at 4,000 segments. This concerns a much larger TM in a ongoing job. What should I do (apart from TimeMachining back to yesterday, or the day before)?
