Translation with preservation of source text

 Hi,

sometimes I have to translate text contained in a column, i.e. on the left-hand side there is source text and I am to insert translation into the empty right-hand column.

Is it possible that CT wouldn't replace the source text but instead placed translation in the right-hand column?

Is there any CAT that can do this?

CafeTran can do it with the Excel format. While creating a new Excel project, select "Filter options" tab. Then, choose "Import source column" for the source language text and "Export column" for the target language text.

Hi,

The simplest way is to copy the source content into the target column, then to select and hide the source text (in the font options). CT will translate only the non-hidden text.

I mean... in Ms Word, not Excel.

Strange there's no response to this excellent idea. By far the easiest and fastest solution. [moderated].
