CafeTran Espresso 2017 - Yeddi Update 25

Hello,

CafeTran Espresso 2017 Yeddi update 25 is available for download. The update can be performed via the Drag & Drop procedure as follows:

1. Run CafeTran.

2. Download 20171023_update.zip file from here (do not unzip or rename the file after downloading) and place it on your desktop.

Note: On Mac OSX, the Safari web browser may unzip the file automatically after downloading. To prevent this, just use the right-click menu and choose the "Download Linked File" command.

3. Drag and drop the downloaded .zip file into CafeTran's Dashboard - the first screen after the start.

Alternatively, you can install the update via the Update button in the Help > About panel instead of dragging and dropping.

What's new:

  • dragging of tabs with resources to change their position in the user interface.
  • fixed an issue with transparency of docked tabs in transparent themes.
  • changed the symbol for the tab character to fix an issue with the display of invisible characters. It is a bold red t now.
  • some fine tuning of "Team Auto-assembling with Machine Translation" option.
  • fixed a issue with source segment transfer to Google Translate web resource.
  • fixed a tagging issue in the first segment of the project when "Hide segment boundary tags" is off.

Hi,
would it be possible to make CT remember the sequence of tabs from the previous session or in a template.

On my MacBook Pro it's a normal but superscript font:

Any reason to make it superscript instead of subscript, other than an artistic desire for variation?

Re: Dragging tabs

Interesting: when dragging a tab to the right, it'll get docked to the tabbed pane. Very nice:

As far as I know, the sequence of tabs (resources) is already remembered in project templates. Doesn't it work on your computer?

You nailed it down.

On my computer it does not work. Perhaps, because I've got the tabs in the dettached window.

Dragging tabs/resources:

Igor, what a nice implementation, thanks a lot!

>some fine tuning of "Team Auto-assembling with Machine Translation" option

Works nicely in Google Translate, Microsoft Translator and Yandex already. Thank you!

Would it be possible to make double-clicking on a tab, closing the resource? This is quite common behaviour too.

Yes; but double-clicking on a tab it is already assigned to a function.

The new build of update 25 (2017102701) is available for download with the following:

- some minor user interface enhancements to adjust to GTK look and feel on Linux.

- simultaneous translating with the supported Machine Translation web resources (via the browser interface).

- The Alt+V keyboard shortcut transferring MT from web page works for docked web MT resources too.

Please update the program as described in the announcement post above. Have a great weekend!

Wow. Very nice. I can now dock my DeepL pane anywhere I want. And the updating of my active glossary is shown again.

Thank you!

When I restarted CafeTran with this pane configuration, it froze. There was no way to open the project again without freezing immediately. Then I created a new project. Quit and restart. No freezing that time. Kind of worries me ... Hmm, I could have opened the XLF of course, without using the pane configuration that perhaps caused the freezing.
