FAQ for newbies – Part 6

I tried to start a document with 1000 words, and use a glossary with 1000 of the same words to try to add 1000 terms to my memory. I didn't work. What did I do wrong?

Yes, indeed, I've given this advice in the post. On second thought, I'd advise you to create any (generic) glossary on the fly, during the translation process.

Start with a project glossary and modify it to a generic glossary, as described/shown in:

https://cafetran.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/6000051550

You'll notice that thanks to the superbe ways to add terms to a glossary that CafeTran offers, you'll have a glossary of a couple of thousand terms in a snap.

And you know that only 5000 words or so cover for 95 % of any language ;).

Hahaha, that one is actually very funny. We’ll have a training session next week. Want to schedule one too, Hans? Would be nice to chat face to face with you. Perhaps this could clear up some misunderstandings?

Lenting: We’ll have a training session next week

Dear Lord, and she will have to pay for it?

There are no misunderstandings, at least not here.

>Dear Lord, and she will have to pay for it? // I always ask: what has it been worth to you :).

Lenting: I always ask: what has it been worth to you

The only reasonable answer to that would be: "I can probably answer that in a couple of weeks or so."

That’s 50% true. Normally, most of the time is spent on directly solving urgent problems. In many cases because of puzzling info that they’ve found on the web. Setting things straight and in perspective. And supplying info that can’t be found on the web. And of course helping to set up glossaries, often multilingual (it always surprises me how talented they are). They are so happy then. Once a trainee sent me a real Sacher cake from his hometown, Vienna. That made my whole family happy :). With many of them I keep friendly relationships after the training. That’s beautiful.
