CafeTran Espresso 2017 - Yeddi Update 16

Hi,

 

CafeTran Espresso 2017 Yeddi update 16 is available for download. The update can be performed via the Drag & Drop procedure as follows:


1. Run CafeTran.

2. Download 20170705_update.zip file from here (do not unzip or rename the file after downloading) and place it on your desktop.


Note: On Mac OSX, the Safari web browser may unzip the file automatically after downloading. To prevent this, just use the right-click menu and choose the "Download Linked File" command.

 

3. Drag and drop the downloaded file into the Project Dashboard and restart the program.


Alternatively, you can install the update via the Update button in the Help > About panel instead of dragging and dropping.


What's new:

  • The glossary option in Preferences to display the longest matches only.
  • Sorting by length filter action.
  • Fixed a display glitch with TM hits - numbers.
  • Improved handling of regular expression errors in glossaries.
  • Fixed a character escape error when loading tab-delimited glossaries to Total Recall.
  • Fixed some status setting and display issues with sdlxliff files.
  • Automatic loading of HTML preview page in CafeTran projects after restart.
  • Fixed a focus issue with the Export dialog.

You can't really beat CT in terms of responsiveness. Within like only a week, you implemented every one of our feature requests and fixed every one of our problems!

Not every. Just ask Hans :)

The new build (2017070601) of the update 16 tackles three issues:


  • Matchboard pop-up info hiding when the mouse is off the pop-up panel.
  • Regular expression errors handling during auto-assembling that might block the display of the results in the Matchboard.
  • Project > Export and Exchange > To Package... panel focus issue.

Please just repeat the update steps described in the announcement post above.

Am testing "Display longest match only", but there seems to be something wrong. Most of the time I get zero hits in my Glossary pane when it's switched on. Sometimes because there is a fuzzy match in a TM, but sometimes even if there are no TM matches at all.

Same with Update CafeTran file selector.

Yes, this new feature needed some screws tightening. Please download and apply the latest build (2017070602) of update 16 as described in the announcement post above.

That seems to have fixed it!

 

When sorting by length, the segments are being sorted by appearance, I assume, not in alphabetical order, e.g.


longer

length

sorted

length

sorted


instead of


length

length

longer

sorted

sorted


(this is the memoQ flavor, I do not know how Wordfast or Studio handle this). In many cases, this question is not so important, but it may be annoying when working on bigger projects with many repetitions. But as it can also be an advantage (e.g. when segments need a different translation, to handle with the autopropagation only forward), I am unsure whether this makes sense or not.


What do the others think?

Igor, with this last update I cannot set my TM to "Fuzzy without word separator", it is sticked on "Fuzzy and hits".

If your source language is Japanese, CafeTran sets all the TMs to "Fuzzy without word separator" automatically. Try to save the TM (if it is not set read-only) and restart to change its display in the options.

Yes, it's a Japanese TM. Whatever I do it stays on Fuzzy and hits. I even removed the TM and reopened it from the Dashboard... still Fuzzy and hits.
I didn't have this problem before.
Igor, I solved my problem this way:
  • I created a new Japanese TM
  • I joined the old one from the Memory menu option (Join memory...)
This morning the problem is back, even with the new TM...
