CafeTran Espresso 2017 - Yeddi Update 11

Hi everyone,

CafeTran Espresso 2017 Yeddi update 11 is available for download. The update can be performed via the Drag & Drop procedure as follows:

1. Run CafeTran.

2. Download 20170524_update.zip file from here (do not unzip or rename the file after downloading) and place it on your desktop.

Note: On Mac OSX, the Safari web browser may unzip the file automatically after downloading. To prevent this, just use the right-click menu and choose the "Download Linked File" command.

3. Drag and drop the downloaded file into the Project Dashboard and restart the program.

Alternatively, you can install the update via the Update button in the Help > About panel instead of dragging and dropping.

What's new:

  • Storing the source document location and rate information in the Project template.
  • New TMX memory task in the Task menu called "Split TMX units". It splits translation units at a character or a phrase - set separately for source and target segments.
  • Exposing Save and Open file choosers to avoid losing them behind the main application window.
  • Search and replace panel is not set as "always on top" now.
  • Some little spring changes to the Dashboard theme.
  • Fixed the <> characters display issue when they are included in the searched phrase.

Thanks for your feedback,

Igor

Split TMX units: Nice!

Maybe the pop-up could be populated with keyboard/mouse-selected source and target section prior to Task>Split TMX units to make things quicker.

There's also a feature to set the price per unit in the Statistics (not sure if it has been there before):

I've noticed a change concerning Auto-assembling for MT in Preferences after this update:

Now, there is only "Improve Auto-assembling with Machine Translation", no more

"Compare Auto-assembling to Machine Translation" (useful) and "Prefer Auto-assembling with Machine Translation".

Reference doc: https://cafetran.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/6000160533-auto-assembling-with-machine-translation

The feature has been adjusted to the new API as the previous implementation caused some issues. Now you can choose either of the two options - with improved MT version or unchanged MT result, but not both at the same time.
