Tiny UI text. Zooming fonts only helps a bit in the translation window itself

CT on Windows 10, version 2017032501
UI texts are tiny (almost impossible to read)

Text in translation window is also tiny - I have to zoom to about size 35 just to read it without leaning forward.

Is there a simple way to scale the app correctly for my screen??

Now it looks like the memory added via this way still has the old, smaller font:

Today's build of the update 5 (2017033101) corrects the above. Thanks!

Official detailed information from Microsoft about the new high DPI scaling functionality

You can set the relevant font sizes here:

Please be aware that some changes will be effective immediately, whereas others require you to restart CafeTran.

It would be good to have to presets to select:

  • Low resolution screens up to 17"
  • Hi-res screens up to 30"

It would be user-friendly and help novice users to start directly with CafeTran after setup, if CafeTran would provide some easy to select screen-optimised configurations.

The optimal situation would be that CafeTran would detect the screen resolution and size itself ;). But probably, Igor has better things to do than playing around with this ;).

I had looked through the menus and tried changing all the font sizes - maybe I'm missing something else, because I increased the font size for every option under the Font menu item to at least 35 or above.
Restarted. No change at all to the UI font sizes - the whole interface is so small it's unusable.
There's no item under Font for the UI anyway, as far as I can tell, so how do you scale the interface?

Could you please provide a screenshot? BTW: On what kind of screen are you working?

Hi John,

Most UI elements can be adjusted under the Font menu. What CafeTran version are you using? See it in the Help > About > Product version. This year updates adjust the menu fonts to the screen resolution. A screenshot would help to see your issue.

Okay, I can see the version in your first post so only the screenshot is missing.

Version: 2017032501
Computer: ASUS UX305
From what you write, Igor, it looks like the menu fonts haven't adjusted automtically on my system, or maybe incorrect screen resolution is being passed to CT.
The window titlebar font size is more or less the right size for my screen resolution.

Is there an external monitor connected with a high resolution? Do you know what the current resolution is? Please try changing the look and feel to Windows in Edit > Preferences > Appearance tab.

That would qualify as a hi-res screen?

The screen you posted, is called the Dashboard. Did you manage to get usable font sizes in the 'real' GUI?

Here's a screenshot of CafeTran running on Windows 8 on my hi-res MacBook Pro (2550 x 1600 if I'm not mistaken, on Parallels):

Dashboard:

This resembles more or less what you get with your 3200 x 1800.

BTW: Have you enabled and screen font magnification in Win10? Perhaps that works for Java apps too?

Thanks for the screenshot. The UI font size will be adjusted in the next update.

The font size of some interface elements has been increased in the update 5 here.
