Adding formatting (italics) in Studio projects

I don't think so. CafeTran can transfer formatting via tags from source segments to target segments in Studio projects. Adding new/custom formatting is only possible in CafeTran projects as the program interprets the custom html formatting tags correctly. It may be possible that even Studio does not use custom formatting for all its supported file formats.

What you nevertheless could do, would be to use CT's mark-up. I have no idea of the representation of it in CT: will it actually simulate (fake) italics in the project segments pane and in the source and target segment boxes?
Anyway, that's also an extra aspect. And besides that, you could use any other mark-up. { and } for instance or [ and ] or $ and #.
Once your translation in CT is ready, you open it in Studio. You then install this useful plug-in and use it to convert all marked strings to real italics. That's exactly one F/R action.

I guess it's not high priority, but it would be great (and presumably not impossible) to have this feature.

I'm translating a Studio project directly in CT.
I need to add italic formatting not present in the original file.
I'd like to avoid having to open the file in Studio at all if possible, so my question is, can I safely add this formatting in CT? Does it work at all? Does it work correctly (will it produce a well-formed Studio tag as if I had added it in Studio)?
