CafeTran Espresso 2017 Harbinger - Release Candidate 4

Hello and Happy New Year!

CafeTran Espresso 2017 Harbinger aka Release Candidate 4 is available for download. The update can be performed via the Drag & Drop procedure as follows:

1. Run CafeTran.

2. Download 20170103_update.zip file from here (do not unzip or rename the file after downloading) and place it on your desktop.

Note: On Mac OSX, the Safari web browser may unzip the file automatically after downloading. To prevent this, just use the right-click menu and choose the "Download Linked File" command.

3. Drag and drop the downloaded file into the Project Dashboard and restart the program.

Alternatively, you can install the update via the Update button in the Help > About panel instead of dragging and dropping.

What's new:

  • The alternative connection to Yandex Translate MT service - see the option in Edit > Preferences > MT services tab. Required the API key from Yandex.com after the registration.
  • Experimental filter for xliff 2.0 files.
  • Automatic switch to preliminary memory matching with large translation memories.
  • Holding CTRL key in New Term/Fragment panels does not erase editor's contents.
  • Fixed the selection of words with German "ß" when changing the case.
  • Fixed a language direction issue when importing a glossary into the TM.

I hope to see the 2017 version providing full scaling support for all interface elements, including, among others, the nontranslatable list. Cheers.

Hi,

There a few small changes in the today's Harbinger build (2017012301):

1. Automatic selection of whole words works for the Matchboard as well.

2. Added a symbol to show ideographic space in the source segment editor.

3. Improved double space check including ideographic space.

4. Fixed a TM refreshing issue after deleting or adding a new fragment to the memory.

5. Increased menu font under Metal look and feel.

6. Exact glossary matches are not marked as "Stemmed" in the current segment when other stemmed matches present.

Please download and update this 2017 Release Candidate update again.

Thanks!

Igor

Probably the last Release Candidate build (2017013001) before the official 2017 release is available for download. It fixes a few minor issues:

1. Proper closing of resources in joined tabs.

2. Proper display of & and " characters in glossaries.

3. Automatic glossary reloading after the change of the term added in the current session.

4. Automatic repeat of the glossary matching after a new term has been added.

5. Added the option to skip translated segments when moving to the next or previous segment.

6. Hunspell spell checker is active in the New Term/Fragment editors.

7. The segments grid displays each document's start in the glue mode.

 Next iteration, perhaps:

Also nice: you can add unknown spellings to the custom dictionary from the New term dialogue box:

Great new feature :)

This must be an unannounced new feature.

Quite a new experience, to see how the glossary pane is updated now. But as far as I can see, all is fine now.

>5. Added the option to skip translated segments when moving to the next or previous segment.

This is so great. Previously, I had to filter SDLXLIFF projects on translated segments first, set them to Checked, release the filter, start translating, after finalising the project reset all checked segments to 'normal'.

Now I can just start translating this new Studio project, concentrating on what I'm being paid for: translating text.

Great!
