CafeTran Espresso 2016 Ichiro - Update 26

Hello,

CafeTran Espresso 2016 Ichiro - Update 26 is available for download. The update can be performed via the Drag & Drop procedure as follows:

1. Run CafeTran.

2. Download 20161118_update.zip file from here (do not unzip or rename the file after downloading) and place it on your desktop.

Note: On Mac OSX, the Safari web browser may unzip the file automatically after downloading. To prevent this, just use the right-click menu and choose the "Download Linked File" command.

3. Drag and drop the downloaded file into the Project Dashboard and restart the program.

Alternatively, you can install the update via the Update button in the Help > About panel instead of dragging and dropping.

What's new:

The update 26 is a summary of minor visual improvements and fixed issues reported after the release of update 25. Two main changes are the following:

  1. Switch to the horizontal Total Recall Dashboard panel split when the main window gets very narrow.
  2. Flow layout of resource names in the Dashboard panels to use the available space better and fit more resources in the panels without scrolling.

Enjoy your weekend,

Igor

Thank you Igor.

I noticed the fonts have become bigger in the Menu, the Tabs and the Preferences in this update.

If this was intended, is there a way to set them to a smaller size as before?

I have not changed the font size of any elements in this update. It may be some scaling in your operating system involved.

The menu fonts (above) were as in file manager menu (below) in the attached screenshot.

I haven't changed anything in my OS regarding scaling.

My shell script to launch Cafetran is as follows:

#!/bin/sh

export PATH=/usr/lib/jvm/java-8-jre/jre/bin/:$PATH

java -Dawt.useSystemAAFontSettings=on -Dswing.aatext=true -Dswing.defaultlaf=com.sun.java.swing.plaf.gtk.GTKLookAndFeel -Xms1024m -Xmx3072m -jar [pathtoCafeTran]/Cafetran.jar

A few updates ago, CafeTran started adjust the user interface font size depending on the screen resolution because some users reported the opposite issue (very small font) with the operating system scaling. Perhaps, it will be added as an option to change the default font size of some UI elements by the user.

The new build of update 26 (2016112001) is available for download. It fixes two issues appearing in "Detached Windows" view:

1. Keyboard shortcuts for the target segment editor work when the focus is on editor's window.

2. You can switch to another project without restarting CafeTran.

Please download again and apply the update 26 as described in the announcement.

I have two problems with this build:
1. The default (selected) TMs and glossaries when I restart CT or close a project to start a new one is not what was previously used, but what was used several projects ago.
2. When exiting a project or on restarting CT, the size of the panels on the start screen is not preserved. (The memories and web resources panels are compressed to nothing, the glossaries and other resources panels correspindingly expanded.) I know I have read about (but not experienced) this problem with a previous version.

The first build of this update had an issue with resizing of the panels in the Dashboard. Try to apply the latest build (2016112202) by downloading the update 26 again.

Both the selected/deselected glossaries and TMs in the Dashboard panels should stick. The order may change though as CafeTran sorts them by last usage.

Hi guys! I don't know why but since this last update, resizing, web sources and some other things are working extremely bad on Mac :S. I've restarted preferences and so on but still, is anyone experiencing troubles too?

I'm happy to verify your findings, if you can post some screenshots.

Yes:

Any idea why these issues are occurring on the latest update?

1. When the source language is Japanese, MatchBar still (sometimes?) fails to display matches in order of appearance. ("Sort matches alphabetically" is turned off.)

 2. Why duplication in the index? (The red box in the screenshot above and one shown below)

Sorry, this is an incorrect description.

What I'm wondering about is, why, for the same source term "実施", different translations are displayed under separate entries.

The two index items are okay because this source term appears twice.

I just found this.

MatchBar  is okay, but the F2 listing seems to be the problem. Noticed the difference.

Font size issue has been solved in the last two builds of Update 26, thank you Igor.

Hi,
I'm not sure whether it is a general problem or just mine, but ALT+P function doesn't work after the update. Although a new term is actually entered in the list of non-translatables it is not displayed in F4 window nor marked in the source editor, even after reloading or going to the next segment.
