CafeTran Espresso 2016 Ichiro - Update 24

Hello,

CafeTran Espresso 2016 Ichiro - Update 24 is available for download. The update can be performed via the Drag & Drop procedure as follows:

1. Run CafeTran.

2. Download 20161102_update.zip file from here (do not unzip or rename the file after downloading) and place it on your desktop.

Note: On Mac OSX, the Safari web browser may unzip the file automatically after downloading. To prevent this, just use the right-click menu and choose the "Download Linked File" command.

3. Drag and drop the downloaded file into the Project Dashboard and restart the program.

On Mac OS X, the Java 1.8.0_77 update broke the drag and drop function in CafeTran. The fix is available starting from CafeTran's Update 4. If you skipped all the updates from 4 to 23, please choose the downloaded update file via the Help > About > Install Update button instead of dragging and dropping it into the Project Dashboard.

What's new:

1. Sizing and highlighting improvements to the Matchboard.

2. Added the following options to the Matchboard:

    - sort matches alphabetically. If this option is disabled, CafeTran displays the matches sorted by their quality

    - show fuzzy memory fragments

    - show fuzzy glossary terms

    - show auto-assembling result

The above options are accessed via the right-click at the Matchboard.

3. For Mac OSX, there is a new option to wrap tabs - see the menu View > Tabs > Wrap tabs.

4. Consistent colors for resources in their search bar buttons, Matchboard results and Dashboard panels.

Enjoy!

Igor

Thanks for all the great improvements of the last few days. But I'm wondering...

1) where are the arrows to go either to the very end or the very beginning of the document. There are only two orange arrows going in increments of a few segments.

2) why I need to resize the height of the translation pane every time I open CT. It opens with the right size, but as soon as the TM is loaded, it grows bigger and I can't see the segment grid. It's no big deal to pull on the upper part and slide it back down, but it is slightly annoying.

Oh, and I'm not sure I like losing a bit of vertical real estate because of the placement of the search bar underneath the row of the new large buttons. I guess it's a toss between space and readability.

Thanks again for the improvements.

Hi Julie,

The white project paging arrows appear when needed, that is, if the number of the segments in the project will be more than 50 (50 segments = one project page).

The issue was present indeed when you switched to horizontal segment panes. It is been fixed in the latest build (still in update 24) so please update your CT installation to have the segment panes properly resized in your preferred layout.

Depending on your screen resolution, the recent change in the search bar buttons should not take much more space than before due to the lack of large icons which were replaced by colors.

You can also switch on/off the search bar when needed using the keyboard shortcut  displayed in the Edit > Quick search menu.

By the way, the last build also adds a Matchboard right-click option to shorten match information in the grid.

Hi! This is what I get when "show fuzzy memory fragments" is disabled (I think fuzzy fragments (not segments) are supposed to be hiden [??]).

Something else, as you can see here, I have lots of entries for and/y, is there anyway I can stop from getting SO MANY entries? I tried setting the Memory Preferences values but after some tries, I have to admit I have no idea about what to set in there :S

Thanks Igor,

Good to know for the arrows and the search bar... except the resizing problem remains. I do have the latest build (update 24b) downloaded late last night.  As I said it looks all good up until the TM is loaded, and then it grows big.

That resizing issue has been fixed today so please download it again.

The fragment matches look pretty exact in your screenshot. The problem is in the duplicate entries in your TM which you can remove via the Task > Remove TMX duplicate units menu.

Thanks Igor,

All good now!

Thanks Igor, it worked! But I still don't know what 'show fuzzy memory fragments' shows/hides AND the vertical arrangement of fuzzy matches still looks counterproductive for vertical docking.

Fixed!
