CafeTran Espresso 2016 Ichiro - Update 15

Hi everyone,

CafeTran Espresso 2016 Ichiro - Update 15 is available for download. The update can be performed via the Drag & Drop procedure as follows:

1. Run CafeTran.

2. Download 20160823_update.zip file from here (do not unzip or rename the file after downloading) and place it on your desktop.

Note: On Mac OSX, the Safari web browser may unzip the file automatically after downloading. To prevent this, just use the right-click menu and choose the "Download Linked File" command.

3. Drag and drop the downloaded file into the Project Dashboard and restart the program.

4. Drag and drop the downloaded file into the Project Dashboard and restart the program. Second time!

The step 4 above is only for the users who missed the preview (Harbinger) and Ichiro updates with the new icon sets.

On Mac OS X, the Java 1.8.0_77 update broke the drag and drop function in CafeTran. The fix is available starting from CafeTran's Update 4. If you skipped all the updates from 4 to 14, please choose the downloaded update file via the Help > About > Install Update button instead of dragging and dropping it into the Project Dashboard.

CafeTran Espresso update 15 adds the following:

- Resizable TMs/Glossaries/Resources panels in the Project Dashboard.

- Coffee house style for the Project Dashboard.

- Highlighting of the words occurring in the changed order in fuzzy matches.

- Option to hide all the tags in the current source segment.

- Mapping of the sdlxliff 'Approved' segment status to CafeTran's 'Checked" segment status.

- Optional connection to Slate Desktop Machine Translation service.

Cheers,

Igor

Hi Igor,

Thanks for this update!

The text in the workflow selector runs off my screen:

>- Highlighting of the words occurring in the changed order in fuzzy matches.

Only one word is coloured, you could say that the fourth word has changed it's place too. Would it be possible to mark it too? Preferably using strike-through, as this is more or less a convention:

Not sure if the Mac version is already available. But where can I find the connector in CafeTran?

Duh, here Slate Desktop is:

Looking good on the 27" Retina, though

I think I like the new coffee shop design. The black panels are like the ones in these shops, showing the special teas, coffees and menu. Perhaps the green bottom bar could be brown or beige? The green is now coming from nowhere.

Perhaps it looks nice to write the titles of the panes in a calligraphic font that is default on the different OSses, like:

chalkboard coffee

You'd have to determine, which fonts are present on all Windows machines and that would qualify. Brush script?

One more thing: on big screen it would be nice if the TM pane could contain several columns. There's space enough. At least 4 columns fit on my screen, in the default 1/4 size.

One more idea: How about underlaying the black panes with a tiny picture of chalky black, like the background here:

You may have used some smaller screen such as 11 inches MacBook Air? Anyway, I have corrected some UI elements of the Project Dashboard for such screens. Please reapply this update.

Thank you!

Igor

13" Retina

Thank you too!

Hans

great, but isn't there a way we could be informed AUTOMATICALLY there is a new version? Just see I skipped a few ones    :-)

Absolutely love the new Coffee house style in the PM Igor!

Fixed!

Thanks Michael! Of course, there is some room for improvement here (chalk traces in the boards and some fancy font in titles - thanks Hans!) but I am really scared of going mad with such perfectionism like that famous Dutch painter. :)

Igor

When I close a project and the Dasboard is shown again, it appears like this:

The height of the boxes on the left changes although I haven't changed it before.

Besides, in the TMX box, only the ProjectTM is selected; all the others in the list are unselected although I selected two of them.

Even after I change to height of the boxes to what it was like before (i.e. to the original height) and tick all the TMs I need, the Dashboard looks as shown/described above the next time it's opened.

Could it be that this problem is somehow related to the one I described here?

Cheers,

Martin
