How to remove fragments from the memory while translating?

Hello, I know I'm able to add fragments to memory as I translate without having to open the TM editor. Is it possible to do the opposite (to remove fragments) while translating?

I want to be able to eliminate those nonsense terms that are suggested the same way I can add a new fragment to memory.

Jan: How do I know all 13 files have been merged in this one?

By checking it. Like a search for specific terms, looking at the number of entries, you name it.

Ok,

I need to translate your recommendations to commands in Caftran to make it work in my head (and on screen).

So: searching I can do as in the screen shot below? (Does not work for words in trans' mem', neither source or target).

So: checking to segments, number of entries et cetera, this seems to work using the 'Browse memory' command as below, yes?

Yes, and MS or MT for Source/Target Memory. Or use Edit | Find.

Never used it. Too new for me. You can close the current project, and drop the resulting TM on the DashBoard, and select Edit TMX file (I think it's called).

In yet another addition to previous post, for the world to enjoy/comment...

Procedure to merge tmx memories in a new tmx memory

All commands executed from menu bar (besides new/open project).

I recommend to create a new working folder with all the tmx files you want to merge.

You may want to backup or duplicate this folder every five minutes.

Take care that you not save older instances of your New memory over newer ones in this procedure (there can be several open if you experiment, you see them tabbed in Translations Memory pane).

  • Create new or open project
  • Create New memory
  • Select Join memory
  • Select the required tmx memory
  • Repeat command above for all memories to be merged
  • Save your New memory
