Accented characters on a French keyboard

Users of an American keyboard can install the PC International layout, offering them dead keys to create overstrike chars, like: ' + o = ó.

How do users of an Azerty keyboard do this?

Alain?

One would expect that A heavily spaceaccented language like French would have superb solutions for face
Common Dominique, vraiement no simple solution for that, except AHK?

Just saw this topic, I have been using the QWERTY Canadian French for years (on a kinesis kb). It also gives access to quotation marks «  and  », all sorts of dashes (– and — in addition to -), non breaking space, etc.

All French people get new keyboards or something like that, I read.
