CafeTran Espresso 2015 Update 7

Hi,

The update 7 to CafeTran Espresso 2015 is available for download. The users who purchased the program after 22 April 2015, in the new licensing system, do not have to install it anew. They can update it via a simple drag and drop procedure as follows:

1. Run CafeTran.

2. Download 20151013_update.zip file from here (do not unzip or rename the file after downloading) and place it on your desktop.

Note: On Mac OSX, the Safari web browser may unzip the file automatically after downloading. Please disable this Safari option for the update.

3. Drag and drop the downloaded file into the Project Dashboard and restart the program.

The update includes the following changes:

- Added an option to set the occurrence threshold for contextual hits in autoassembling.

- Automatic adjustment of spaces function takes brackets and inverted commas into account.

- Rearrangement of some icons in the user interface to have a more intuitive access to them.

- Improved error handling during the launch. CafeTran should report an error and recover from this situation by itself. Previously, the user had to reset to the default settings manually to be able to launch again properly.

- Larger checkbox texts in the Project Dashboard to have them legible in the high resolution screens.

- If the source segments can be edited, the title of the source segment pane is red.

- Implemented native full screen support on Mac OSX.

- Automatic refresh of the glossary when the source term is modified/edited in Quick Term editor.

Thank you all for your excellent feedback!

Igor

PS: I added it to: http://cafetran.wikidot.com/changelog

To my site, too (http://www.ab.auone-net.jp/~cafetran/)

Thanks Igor

M,

And thank YOU for listening so good to us. Very much appreciated. Hans

Thank you

PS concerning your hint for Mac OS X browsers: please keep things simple - for Safari, there is a command in the right-click menu called "Download Linked File" (I do not know if this is correct, the German equivalent is "Verknüpfte Datei laden"). This one does the trick, no need to fiddle around with settings. I assume any other browser for Mac (at least Chrome) will handle these downloads correctly.

IK: Added an option to set the occurrence threshold for contextual hits in autoassembling.

It's too early to tell, but it seems it works! (without changing the default setting)

Or an easy way out for the disappearing icons after entering a large search string?

Implemented native full screen support on Mac OSX.

I had problems getting out of the full screen view (still on Yosemite, though).

Any chance the Finder works more Mac-like when you browse to resources? (haven't checked yet)

Hi Hans,

Yes, it should work fine taking the context into account if it is available. I slightly increased the default occurrence threshold to filter out false positive hits.

I have been testing it on m Mac mini and the search box is resized only if you make the application quite small on the screen. And even then, after resizing the main window, it gets back to normal.

Clicking the resizing icon should get CT out the full screen.

Igor

The width is half the screen width. Making it bigger shows the icons again, but to go back to the original state, I'll have to re-start CT.

Clicking the resizing icon should get CT out the full screen.

It didn't. But, as I said, still Yosemite (for another couple of weeks).

H.

After this update, CT is broken here. When I start, I get a blanc screen.

I tried a few things:

  • Fresh reinstall with the complete CT file (after removing CT from the Applications.
  • Removing and reinstalling Java (I tried JRE, then JDK, and then javaforox).
I don't know what else I can do. I rebooted my Mac after each of these steps.

Any suggestion?

El Capitan
Present Java version:

java version "1.8.0_60"

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_60-b27)

Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.60-b23, mixed mode)

Hi Alain,

Please reset the settings as described here:

It should solve it. I plan to switch to El Capitan this weekend to check the update process there.

I haven't switched to El Capi yet, don't know about the others, but it clearly has nothing to do with OS X, or it's version/update. Both Alain and I use Java 1.8. It's something else.

H.

I switched to "El Capi" (nice term) yesterday. Absolutely no problem here, and Hans is absolutely right – it cannot have anything to do with this OS release.

For what it's worth: I've taken the plunge now, on my production Mac. Still running Yosemite on that machine.

I've injected CafeTran.jar manually in the CafeTran package (so that I could backup the previous build). All looks fine and CafeTran seems to work okay (in 1 hour I'll know more).

The colour scheme (pink!) is quite surprising.

Hi Hans,

The color of the borders is called magenta: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magenta

 Igor

Ah, that's true. I used to work in VILLAMEDIA, which was painted in yellow, magenta and cyan.
