Add an {Insert Placeholder} button to the New fragment/New term dialogue box

In order to simplify the conversion of selected strings from the Source segment pane   and the Target segment pane / to ease the insertion of consecutive numbered placeholders in the dialogue boxes, a new button would be great.

Select the appropriate word(s) in the source or target box of the dialogue box and click on the button to have it converted to {1}, {2}, etc.:

(Button is between the two boxes, a little too small to read, perhaps.)

Yes please!

"Please" from me, too.

Plus the "whole word selection" feature, and an "Undo selection" button, too., if possible.

A sample screencast of an English/Japanese translation tool is attached for clarification.

HCW: Select the appropriate word(s) in the source or target box of the dialogue box and click on the button to have it converted to {1}, {2}, etc.:

Create a few (3 or 4 should do) KBSs that replace the selection with {1}, {2}, {3}, etc.

Hi Masato,

So that's where you got the idea from :).

May we know, which CAT tool this is?

Have a good weekend!

Hans

Hi Hans,

Yes, this is a source of my inspiration for segment patterns, "phrase" patterns, as well as "reflexive" auto-assembling of all these.

The software is called PC-Transer, an English/Japanese-only machine translation package from CrossLanguage Corporation. It combines syntax-based machine translation and user glossaries/memories.

Good weekend for you, too!

Masato

Wow!
