Strange horizontal spacing in MQXLIFF project : CafeTran

I'm currently translating an MQXLIFF project and for the first time ever, I see a very strange horizontal spacing in the Source segment pane:

When I click on 'höhenverstellbaren', the whole word is nevertheless selected; so it's merely a visual problem.

What's happening here?

For what it's worth: the MQXLIFF was created from a MIF:

There may be blank characters in these words. You can check it easily by following a character count for the current segment.
